Hi. I'm a twenty-something, Cancer, Year of the Ram, half-Japanese, half-American-mutt, born-and-bred Washington native. I'm an alum of the University of Washington, Class of 2001, where I spent my untraditional four years pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences while playing piccolo with the Husky Marching Band. The original career choice wasn't a good one for me, and after putting in a few years, I decided to change my direction. Which is how I wound up working full-time at a large, urban, county hospital in Seattle while maintaining on-call status at a long term care/rehab facility. Did I mention I'm doing the school thing at the same time? It keeps me out of trouble.
I love my family and my friends. I have two cats, a bi-colored, black, tabby, polydactyl (also known as an "Ernest Hemingway cat", or a "Hemingway polydactyl", take your pick) freak of nature named Mimi and a Siamese-lynx-point-tabby-tortie, cross eyed, crooked-tailed freak of nature named Lily. I like to pretend that I own them, but we all know the truth; they own me. I'm a liberal country girl (meaning I have liberal leanings but like country music) but I try to keep the politics at a minimum in my journal, so don't expect long rants about the government. I also believe that everyone's entitled to their own opinion, so feel free to rant if that's what floats your boat. Or not, s'all good to me as long as you don't try and change who I am and what I believe. I LOVE The Sims and The Sims 2, though I rarely have time to play. I'm learning how to knit and I'm slowly experimenting with lampwork, which is entirely too addicting. I watch American Idol and Amazing Race. I prefer peanut butter M&Ms over all other M&Ms. I'm a die-hard Seattle Mariners fan through the ups and downs (and more downs...and more downs) and I'll always be a (UW) Husky.
